DUNDEE COURIER - 25/8/03 - Eddie Gillanders - "NOSTALGIA RULED on Saturday as visitors flocked to Aberdeen's Duthie Park for the 21st annual Clydesdale Horse Show. The show proved a triumph for Ian Young, Wellheads, Clochan, Buckie , proprietor of the famous Arradoul prefix, whose three-year-old mare, Arradoul Sweet Melody, carried off the coveted "champion of champions" title for horses which have won a breed championship over the past year.

Sired by the renowned, Collessie Cut Above - sire also of the show champion on Saturday - Sweet Melody has had a successful season, taking the native breed championships at the Nairn and Keith shows and the Clydesdale breed championship at the Lourin Fair at Old Rayne.

Stirling exhibitor, John Adamson, Glenside Farm, Plean, came close to repeating his "champion of champions" success at the show in 1996when he stood reserve with his two-year-old filly, Blueton Daisy, by Greendykes Northern Star, whose championship successes include Ayr, Great Yorkshire, Doune and Dunblane, and east Kilbride.

In the general show, top Fife Clydesdale breeder and exhibitor, Ronnie Black, Newton of Collessie, Cupar, took the supreme championship for the second year running with the same horsebut failed to repeat last year's "champion of champions" success. This is the fourth successive year that progeny of Collessie Cut Above, bred by Mr Black and winner of the "champion of champions" title at the show in 1993, have won the championship at the Aberdeen event..."
