2004 CLYDESDALE HORSE SOCIETY

YOUNG STOCKMAN'S COMPETITION

In this years Clydesdale Horse Society Young Stockman's competition, 7 competitors (out of 10 original entries) came forward to battle for the Crossgates Trophy.

Each competitor was provided with 1h 30minutes to wash a Clydesdale's legs, dress its tail and present the horse for showing. After this duration the handlers then go on to show the horse in front of the judge.

This years judge was Mr. J A McDermid from Dumfries.

The class was eventually won by Allan Craig - who was the winner of last years Young Handlers competition. Allan is 18 years old.

Second place was awarded to 17 year old Carolynne Crawford from Cardenden.

Third place went to this years Young Handlers Champion Mark Noble (aged 17) from Balmedie.

Fourth place was awarded to Laura Young from Buckie, the 13 year old was the youngest competitor forward in the class. 

Fifth place went to Teresa Whewell from Chapel of Garoich. Aged 18, Teresa also competed with one of George and Ruth Skinner's geldings within both the hunter under saddle and side saddle sections of the show.

Sixth place was awarded to 17 year old Kezia Craine who travelled to the show all the way from the Isle of Man.

And last but not least, Seventh place was awarded to Victoria McLean aged 15 from Linlinthgow.
