The 2004 Clydesdale Horse Society Young Handlers final had one of the largest number of entries forward within the Clydesdale section at the Royal Highland Show this year.

Judged in similarity to the Young Stockman's competition by Mr. J A McDermid, Mr McDermid had the difficult decision of finding a winner from 18 entries.

Each entrant qualified for the final at local and regional shows in 2003 aged 16 or under on the date of qualification.

The eventual champion was 17 year old Mark Noble from Balmedie, who beat not only his brother Steven by winning the competition but also the 13 other competitors that came forward into the competition.

As mentioned earlier the triumphant champion this year was 17 year old Mark Noble.

Second place was awarded this year to Carolynne Crawford aged 17 from Carenden who also narrowly missed out by coming second within the Young Stockman's competition.

Third place went to the youngest young handler forward, Ronagh Zawadzski.

Fourth place was awarded to Alistair Jackson from Biggar aged 14

Fifth place was taken by Joe Dooley aged 15 from the Isle of Man.

Sixth place was awarded to 13 year old Laura Young from Buckie, the youngest participant to compete in both the Young Handlers and Young Stockman's competitions.

Although Mr McDermid did not place the competitors below sixth prize, many congratulations also go to Steven Noble (14), Victoria McLean (15), Heather Cork (17), Alistair Clark (13), Thomas Clark (15), Kezia Craine (17) and Alistair Greenhill (15) for competing.
