Mrs. Elizabeth Young originally bought her first stallion Sandside Bay (nicknamed Guy) when he was a youngster, several decades ago. He proved to be a very successful stallion, covering a large number of mares every year. Guy had a very good pedigree - his sire was Quadriga, who's own sire was Quorum, and Quorum as many people know was the sire of the famous Red Rum!

Sandside Bay sired two of the stallions that we have had on the farm since Guy himself. Toby was bred from an TB ex-race horse, and Alex was bred from a full Clydesdale. Toby stood at stud until April 2005 when he sadly died of a kidney tumour. He had the appearance that many people describe to be the spitting image of his father.

Toby has now been succeeded at Arradoul by Lorton Footprint, who we call Dominic. His first season at stud with us was 2005, used only on our own horses. His first progeny are expected this year.

Please contact us if you are interested in sending a mare to Lorton Footprint.

Alexander

Alex sadly died several years ago, but was a TB X Clydesdale stallion, and is also the sire to lots of our young stock and several of the mares that we are currently breeding from. (Photographed below - click on Alexander's name for more information on Clydesdale X TBs)
